Monday 30 January 2012 saw the launch of Adam Smith College Radio in association with K-Town FM, a community radio station based in Kinglassie, near Glenrothes. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, between 1pm and 5pm, first and second year students from the HND Radio courses will be broadcasting a wide variety of shows to the world via the internet. You can tune in via http://ktownfm.digitalfife.com.
I shall be broadcasting my shows under the Planet Pop banner and will endeavour to do a different themed-show every time, as opposed my usual “Where The Action Is” shows on Leith FM. The first show, presented in partnership with Jamie Wells, had a theme of Planets to celebrate the launch of the station (do you see what I did there?). This week’s second show enabled me to celebrate a very guilty pleasure in the shape of the Eurovision Song Contest. Here are the playlists for both shows:

Beth – Dime (Spain 2003)
Anne-Marie David – Tu Tu Reconnaitras (Luxembourg 1973)
The Divine Comedy – My Lovely Horse (Setanta 1999)
It occurred to me that my first two shows featured F.L.Y.’s “Hello from Mars” so I thought I might have a chain of shows, with one track from each show determining the theme for the next. On that basis the next show may have a literature theme (Fairytale) or perhaps animals (My Lovely Horse). Feel free to make your own suggestion.
Thanks, as always, to everyone who tuned in and to those who also joined in on the Adam Smith College Radio Facebook page. Your contributions and feedback are always welcomed and if there’s something you want to hear on the show then by all means let me know.
Special thanks to Scott Basham for producing the Planet Pop intro ident, which opens every show.
